BORNO FLOODING: Tinubu, Governors, Legislators Must Do More On Immediate Aid - Rabiu Bako

It is with great displeasure that I identify and commiserate with the good people of Borno State in this hard and difficult times. There is little doubt that the people have indeed faced immense challenges in recent years, from the devastating impacts of terrorism to the tragic consequences of recent flooding. The loss of life and the displacement of thousands are not just statistics; they represent families torn apart and communities devastated.

In this critical moment, it's imperative for Governors and the National Assembly members across the nation to extend immediate aid in support and solidarity to Borno. Resources, both financial and material will play a significant role in alleviating the suffering of those affected. Collaborative efforts to provide immediate relief such as food, medical assistance, and shelter are crucial as well.

Furthermore, a visit from the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu whom is currently somewhere in the United Kingdom would be a powerful gesture of compassion. It would not only uplift the spirits of the people of Borno but also show a common sense of belonging. Such an action would reinforce a sense of national solidarity.

It is essential that we all come together as a nation to support fellow citizens in prayers or otherwise in times like this. The road to recovery may be long, but with collective action, empathy, and strong leadership, we can help rebuild lives and restore hope.
God Bless Nigeria.
God Bless Borno State.

Mohammed Rabiu Bako,
Elder-statesman and Senior Citizen, Kaduna State.
