Independence Day: A Moment For Pride and Reflection for Nigeria. -Alhaji Mohammed Rabiu Bako

Northern Elderstateman and Senior Citizen, Alhaji Mohammed Rabiu Bako has has called for unity and a reflection of the journey thus far as Nigeria celebrates her 64th Independence anniversary on October 1st.

Speaking to our correspondent in Kaduna on Monday evening, Bako stated; As we celebrate 64 years of nationhood, it's a moment for pride and reflection. I congratulate our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our past presidents and heads of state, our brave armed forces and all citizens for our continued dedication to our sovereignty and security."

"While we acknowledge the challenges of insecurity, poverty, and poor living conditions affecting so many, it's crucial that we hold onto the spirit of unity. It remains the cornerstone of our collective existence and progress."

Further stressing, Rabiu Bako reminds that "Corruption continues to be a formidable barrier to our advancement. Mr. President must take bold, decisive action to eradicate this persistent issue, as it undermines our potential and fosters disillusionment among citizens. The people desire a working economy with functional industries that provides jobs and discards high costs of living and poverty."

"To our dear Governors who are working hard to sustain the nation's growth from their respective states, particularly my very own Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State; exemplary leadership must be prioritized with sincerity and commitment. We must ensure that leadership reflects transparency, responsibility, and a true desire for the nation's upliftment."

"Above all, the Nigerian armed forces have been the back bone of the Nigerian State till this day. They continue to spill their own blood and lay their lives for Nigeria's sovereignty. They are indeed the heroes of our nation's journey of 64 years."

Lastly, former President Olusegun Obasanjo have stated in a recent statement “Nigeria is sitting on the keg of a gunpowder” which cannot be overstated. So therefore, as we look forward, let unity, integrity, and a shared vision guide us towards a brighter and a more secured future. Together, we can build a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria and HAPPY INDEPENDENCE! He added;
