One Year In Office: Hon. Munira Suleiman Tanimu Scores High in Legislative Duties, Constituency Engagements...

The Majority Leader of Kaduna State House of Assembly and Member Representing Lere East Constituency, Hon. Munira Suleiman Tanimu, Zinariyan Saminaka, Hasken Kurama; who assumed office a year ago, precisely on the 13th day of June 2023, continues to receive high commendations for her exemplary performance in various areas of service. She has proven to be a dedicated and efficient legislator, making significant contributions to the legislative process.

Some key areas where Hon Munira Suleiman has excelled is in carrying out her legislative duties diligently. She has consistently participated in debates, discussions, and voting on important bills and policies in the best interest of Kaduna State. This can be seen in a bill she sponsored to Repeal the Kaduna State Fire and Public Safety Law 2018 and to Enact the Kaduna State Fire and Public Safety Law, 2024. Indeed, a bill that has passed its second reading on the floor of the house. Furthermore, her engagement in committee work has been particularly commendable, as she actively contributes to shaping and refining legislation. She has demonstrated a deep understanding of critical issues and has proposed well-thought-out solutions as well. 

Despite the contemporary economic discomfort attached to Kaduna State, She has never turned her back, but consistently engaged with her constituents, fully representing their interests and addressing their concerns. She continues to listen attentively to their feedbacks and suggestions. She has also initiated various community development projects that have had a positive impact on her constituency. SOME OF MUNIRA'S PROJECTS/ INTERVENTIONS ARE:

a) Renovation and refurbishment of Galman Datti primary health care center, Kayarda Ward. 

b) [Facilitator] In the 5.2 kilometers ongoing road construction from kwanar Narbi to Maresu in Abadawa Ward 

c) Installation of Solar Motorized Boreholes:  Sabon Gari (Abadawa Ward); Ungwan Mangu (Saminaka Ward); Makera huta/Sabon Layi; Ungwan Makama; Ungwan Sarki Saidu; Ungwan Mahuta (Yarkasuwa Ward); Watara; Galman Datti (Kayarda Ward); Kururuwa (Abadawa Ward); Kofar Gidan Sarki (Sabon Birni Ward)

d) Donation of building materials to some victims of flood in Ungwan Alhaji, Kayarda Ward. 

e) Through the intervention of Kaduna State Government on food items across the state; Hon. Munira Suleiman facilitated over 500 Constituents to benefit. 

f) Settlement of hospital bills for some sick, less privileged constituents.

EDUCATION:

a) Renovation of Ungwan Mai-Zuma community school with the donation of tables, chairs and other essential learning materials.

b) Donated chairs/table to a community school in Dan/Alhaji Ward

c) Sponsored and paid school fees for 22 students, including scholarships to 2 orphans up to University level. 

d) Sponsored over 60 young people to participate in JAMB examinations. 

e) Renovation and refurbishment of the Green Heart Impact computer school where over 1,000 students have benefited from 2015 to 2024 and counting. 

EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMS & OTHERS: 

a) Gifted 15 Constituents shops and farm lands to promote and grow their economic capacity.

b) [Facilitator] Over 100 constituents benefited from the agricultural grants of Kaduna State Enterprise Development Agency (KADEDA).

c) [Facilitator] Over 100 constituents were beneficiaries of 50,000 cash grants by the Federal Government.

d) 10 constituents benefited from a 1,000,000 (One Million Naira) economic empowerment program. 

e) 10 young and vibrant constituents benefited from yet another 1,000,000 (One Million Naira) to enhance & grow their digital skills ...and more. 

Overall, Hon Munira Suleiman Tanimu has proven to be an exemplary legislator who has diligently fulfilled her duties in office. Her commitment to constituents, active engagement in the legislative process, and advocacy for important causes have been commendable. By every measure, she has scored high in her first one year in office and expected to continue making significant contributions in the years ahead.
