"There Seem to Be a Very Low Action At The NASS By Our Legislators From Kaduna", Says Rabiu Bako

Alhaji Mohammed Rabiu Bako who is an elder-statesman and senior citizen in Kaduna State has called on National Assembly members in the state to be more focused on discharging there duties and contribution more to national growth with regards legislative affairs.

According to Rabiu Bako, "Since the commencement of the 10th Assembly, there seems to be a very low action at the NASS by our legislators from Kaduna State. While I take time to once again congratulate them for their assumption of office, it is also important they understand that it is a privilege and not ceremonial.

"It is sad to know that these representatives of the people seem to be noticeably inactive when it comes to participating in legislative activities. Their contribution in both the Senate and Green Chambers is close to non-existent. This is in stark contrast to their counterparts from other regions who actively engage and contribute meaningfully."

"They must be able to constantly engage with constituents across political party lines so as to understand the real issues. Working hand in hand with the Government of Kaduna State and as well the Governor, must not be undermined because that will bring about economic, social and political progress."

"A few legislators have made the state proud, and no one can underscore their contributions which are noticeable indeed. However, we need all our legislators to perform their duties with every sense of commitment and responsibility. So therefore, a lot more must be done. It is essential for them to actively participate in legislative debates, propose bills, and advocate for the needs and interests of their constituents."

He went further to state that, "To truly serve the people and the state, our National Assembly members must become more engaged, vocal, and proactive in their legislative activities. This will allow them to effectively represent the interests of their constituents and contribute meaningfully to national development."

Lastly, he stressed that "this is to also send my condolences to affected citizens of the recent and unfortunate accident in Tudun-Biri community. We pray for the departed souls. Also thanks to the NASS members for forfeiting their one month salaries. This only shows that Nigerians, both Muslims and Christians are concerned about whatever happens to our people irrespective of ethnicity or religion."
